Ceramic Artwork Will Take Center Stage During Stirling Hall Holiday Art Sale

By Kristin Elliott

The Stirling Hall Holiday Art Sale will take place Friday and Saturday in the Great Room at Dickinson Hall at 100 E. Old Mill Rd. in Lake Forest. Opening night is Dec. 8 from 6 p.m.– 9 p.m., and the sale continues Dec. 9 from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

“This year, we are excited to offer an array of ceramic artwork that features firing techniques ranging from wood-fired pottery to high-fire, soda, low-fire, and pit-fired pieces,” said Karen Avery, Art Director at Stirling Hall. “Come and explore our artists’ tables and learn about these different finishes. Bring home a piece of art to adorn your (or your loved ones) dining room table or that cozy nook in your library."

Stirling Hall, a hidden gem constructed in 1929 and designed by the renowned North Shore architect Edwin H. Clark, serves as Lake Forest's artistic hub. This historic venue houses a fully equipped, professionally staffed art center with a particular emphasis on ceramics. The art center offers a variety of classes for both adults and youth, including wheel throwing, hand building, mosaics, sculpture, tile, and more. Additionally, seasonal workshops are available for individuals of all ages.

A portion of all sales goes toward supporting the Stirling Hall Art Center. Stop by, shop for unique gifts, and contribute to the flourishing arts community in Lake Forest. Learn more at Stirling Hall Art Center | Lake Forest Parks and Recreation.
