On the GO: Lake Forest Walks Boost Health

Thais O'Malley

By Thais O'Malley More than 180 people attended the GO Lake Forest Fire Truck Fun Walk on July 23, when Lake Forest Parks and Recreation teamed up with the Lake Forest Fire Department to provide a fun and educational day for children.

GO Lake Forest is a movement in partnership with the Lake County Health Department to improve the health of residents by promoting walking.

There are more GO Lake Forest Walks happening this year, including:

  • Aug. 22: Forestry Walk at Northcroft Park

  • Sept. 5: Lake Forest College Walk and Tour

  • Sept.19: Open Lands Nature Walk at Jean and John Greene Nature Preserve (in partnership with Lake Forest Open Lands Association)

  • Oct. 3 and Oct. 17: Lake Forest Cemetery Walk

All GO Lake Forest walks are free. Some have limited spots and require registration. Please visit the GO Lake Forest page for details.
